"It's like being in a huge second family who are all stupidly creative!"

Participant 2007

Our Camps are places where young people can come and celebrate their creativity. Camp is place to come if you want to meet like minded people, and to work intensively in a safe and secure environment with professional artists from the world of Theatre. We don't pick up scripts and rehearse. We create spaces to play in, & improvise together to transform the experiences of the camp into performance.

Everyone who comes on one of our camps is promised a unique experience. We seek out unusual and exciting places to work, and in 2008 hope to be able to take a group of Thrifters to both Europe & New York.

Most of the other young people attending these camps will be over 15, but this is not a rule, just a guideline. We get a good spread of ages coming to work with us, and we believe that working with a diverse age range helps build the family atmosphere we actively promote during our camps.

There is no formal selection process for our Camps, and anyone is welcome to attend. The only requirement is that you are passionate about Music Theatre! Even though we do not currently receive any funding, we always try to subsidise places for those people who might not be able to afford the course fee.

Who will l be working with? Director: Tim Godwin & Composer: Nicolas Bloomfield

Accommodation: We will have the exclusive use of the Tudor Manor house. Rooms are in dormitory style and within the beautiful manor house.

Food: All meals will be cooked by our very own THRIFT chef. If you have any special dietary requirements then just let us know on your booking form so that the kitchen can prepare something especially for you!

Chaperones:A welcome return of THRIFT chaperones Jenny & Amy Stothard and a small team of counsellors, all of whom have THRIFT'ed before. All THRIFT staff are CRB checked, fully licensed & insured.
